We advise pregnant women who drive to follow these recommendations:
- If you have little driving experience, refrain from long trips in winter.
- If you are in the later stages of pregnancy, remember that fatigue sets in quickly, so be especially cautious while driving.
- Do not exceed 60 km/h on city roads and 90 km/h on highways.
- Pass the lower part of the seatbelt under your belly for comfort, and consider buying a special model designed for pregnant women from an auto shop.
- Avoid using air fresheners in the car to reduce the risk of nausea.
- The music in the car should be calm and pleasant.
- Adjust the driver’s seat once a week, leaving a gap of 15 cm between the steering wheel and your belly.
- Regularly check the vehicle at a service center.
- If the trip takes longer than an hour, make 15-minute stops to rest and stretch.
